Arizona Theatre Company is the state's leading professional theatre. The company performs six productions at the Temple of Music and Art in Tucson, Ariz., and at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix from September to May each season. It entertains nearly 150,000 people annually. In 1978, the Arizona Civic Theatre became Arizona Theatre Company and started to stage productions in Phoenix.
