This is a large facility for the tiny bitsy town. A very impressive history with lots of artifacts. Take your time to stroll around and read. The underground display was cool - literally .........

The Tubac Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to preserving the rich history of Tubac and the Santa Cruz River Valley for over 50 years. Through their efforts, they have saved significant landmarks such as the Tubac 1885 Old Schoolhouse and the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park and Museum, while also establishing the Elizabeth Brownell Research Center and building an extensive collection of oral history interviews, maps, and local artists' biographies.
With a mission to support research, preserve history, and share it with the public, the Tubac Historical Society offers a research library and visitor center where visitors can explore the fascinating history of Tubac. They also host events such as the Breakfast with History lecture series and Tubac History on Thursday Afternoons, providing opportunities for the community to engage with local historians and learn about various historical topics. Interesting place. Was a nice day and we enjoyed the walk through through the grounds. We like learning about this area and the museum was informative. Touring the ruins was interesting.

Tubac is a beautiful interesting little town. The buildings are territorial style and colorful. The shops offer unique items by local artists. I can't wait to go back for the art fair! The people...
