We're also the preferred place to stay if you're taking the Arizona State Bar Exam, administered each February and July just two blocks away. For the July exam, in fact, we limit reservations exclusively for exam registrants. Whether you are parents of prospective students, are visiting your current students, celebrating a graduation or are on official college business, the Royal Elizabeth is also an ideal place to stay for your visit to the University of Arizona. We are one mile from the Main Gate of the historic campus which makes for a pleasant walk or bike ride in moderate temperatures or a very short drive otherwise. On Friday evenings and all day Saturdays and Sundays you may also ride the historic Old Pueblo Trolley to the University's Main Gate The trolley terminus is a short six block walk from The Liz, and, by late 2009 the Old Pueblo Trolley is expected to share a part of its route with a new light rail line to better connect Tucson's Westside and Downtown to the University and the University Medical Center campus.
