Slurry seal is a mixture of an emulsified asphalt, mineral aggregate, water and chemical additives. When properly mixed and spread over a prepared surface, slurry seal will provide a skid-resistant homogenous mat that will protect the pavement structure from surface deterioration. In addition to conventional slurry seal applications we offer polymer modified and tire rubber modified formulations. Micro surfacing is a polymer-modified, cold-mix paving system that can remedy a broad range of problems on today's streets. The rapid setting characteristics of micro surfacing allow for traffic back on the street in much less time than other sealing or surfacing treatments. Cracking can be caused by aging, low temperature effects, fatigue, or movements in the base caused by shrinkage or existing cracks below the pavement surface. Cracks should be sealed to stop the intrusion of moisture into the pavement structure. For pavements in good to very good condition that are subjected to light to moderate traffic counts, asphalt emulsion seal coating can be an effective aesthetically pleasing surface treatment.
