History
27 years playing and teaching Classical, Jazz, and more to all ages in NYC and AZ / 12 years of classical lessons/3 years in Juilliard/3 years as leader and keyboardist for blues/rock band/ BA Fordham University/MA City University of New York/ 10 years jazz piano and pedagogy lessons privately and at Sounds of Joy studio in NYC.
Specialties
I specialize in teaching Classical, Jazz, Blues, Broadway and Pop piano to beginners and to adults returning to the piano. All ages and levels are welcome. Lessons are tailored to each student according to musical tastes and abilities. For children, the same applies. I work closely with parents regarding their expectations. Lessons are not strict, are friendly, but do cover fundamentals in reading, technique, theory, improvisation. Included is access to my huge library of recordings and music publications, from which I draw materials for each individual student.
