Established in 1981, PHI Air Medical is a premier full-service air ambulance provider. It offers air medical transportation services for hospitals and emergency service agencies in 17 states using approximately 85 aircrafts at 65 separate locations throughout the United States. PHI Air Medical also provides specialty services and crews in many locations for cardiac, including intra-aortic balloon pump, high-risk maternal and high-risk neonatal patients. The company operates primarily under the independent provider model and to a lesser extent under the hospital-based model. Its programs operate at or above Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) standards.
