Padma Mahant, MD, is a neurologist at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Mahant’s research has included the study of risk factors for blepharospasm, improving posture and gait in Parkinson’s disease patients, and several clinical trials of pharmaceuticals to potentially treat Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Dr. Jha completed her neurology residency, chief residency, and a fellowship in neurocritical care at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital through the Harvard Medical School Partners Program. Dr. Jha has received prestigious awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other foundations to pursue her research. She uses a translational approach to evaluate and develop individualized targets against cerebral edema to improve outcomes after traumatic brain injury (TBI). She has multiple publications and national presentations in this field. She is also involved in collaborations with multicenter TBI consortia, such as TRACK TBI and GAIN (Genetic Associations in Neurotrauma), for her research. Dr. Jha serves on the editorial board of JAMA Neurology and is the critical care section editor for the journal Stroke.
