History

After six years as a volunteer breastfeeding counselor, I became accredited as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Registered Lactation Consultant (RLC) in 2005. I recertify every five years to ensure I stay current with breastfeeding research and education.

Bring it on! I offer 19 years of experience helping mothers and babies breastfeed, meeting in the comfort and convenience of your home. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I performed 2,500 hours of experience helping mothers and babies, plus extensive education, just to qualify to take the six-hour exam. I renew my certification through continuing education and testing every five years, to be sure the information I am providing is accurate and current for my clients. Our visit starts with a thorough history and examination of both mom and baby, asking questions and determining the areas of concern. Once I've figured out the cause(s) of the challenges to breastfeeding, we work together to decide on a Care Plan for mom and baby which I leave in writing, so mom doesn't have to try to remember everything we discussed. I also provide receipts that include insurance codes and all of the information needed to submit the claim to insurance for reimbursement, according to the Affordable Care Act as of August 1, 2012. We stay in touch by phone and email, adjusting the Care Plan as things improve, until my help is no longer needed.
