Established in 1983, United Food Bank is a community-based, private, nonprofit organization that provides hunger relief and food assistance by collecting, acquiring, storing and distributing food and related commodities through a network of social services agencies. It serves Maricopa, Gila, Pinal, Apache and Navajo counties in Arizona. The organization works in partnership with other nonprofit organizations that serve low-income hungry and food insecure families and individuals. United Food Bank offers the Kids Cafe program, which serves evening meals and snacks five nights in a week to at-risk children.
