Malpai Borderlands Group

Founded in1994, Malpai Borderlands Group is a nonprofit organization involved in protecting and restoring the ecological diversity and productivity of unfragmented open-space landscape across southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. It focuses on the San Bernardino Valley, the Peloncillo Mountains, the Animas Valley and the Animas Mountains while engaging in land protection through conservation easements, cooperative land management through technical and cost-share assistance program, fire mapping, habitat restoration along with spreading awareness through sharing new scientific and land management information. Malpai Borderlands Group also engages in protection and conservation of endangered species.
