Established in 1948, the Goodyear Fire Department provides a range of emergency medical services. It is responsible for protecting the lives and properties of the city s residents. The department has a hazardous materials team and operates through more than five fire stations. In addition, the Goodyear Fire Department governs an emergency management team that offers mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and coordination solutions. The department operates a fire community services division that is responsible for developing and implementing programs and policies to reduce the impact of natural disasters. It also offers fire prevention education and conducts inspections. The department is a part of Goodyear City in Arizona.
