History
Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Tour de Tucson presented by Casino del Sol Resort is America's largest perimeter bicycling event - 111, 85, 60 and 42 miles plus 10,5, and 1/4-mile Fun Rides. A super lineup of features includes: Three-day Bike EXPO, exciting mass-start spectacle, chip timing, Mariachis, two (usually dry) river crossings, route stations with water and snacks (about 7-10 miles apart), Bike Patrol & SAG support, full police support at intersections, plenty of morale-boosting volunteers & spectators, Olympic-style medallions to all finishers and an unforgettable finish-line festival with Beer Garden, music, massages, etc. Main event routes show off Tucson's beautiful vistas of its local mountain ranges - three rising over 9,000 feet - complete with the backdrop of the mighty Saguaro cactus. The Fun Rides offer easy & exciting routes. Proceeds go to Tu Nidito Children & Family Services and other Perimeter Bicycling charities.

They should call this tour de traffic- all it does it cause traffic in the small towns that don't have the infrastructure for a race like this. It is called Tour De Tucson, not Tour De Pima...
