History

Discount Cab and its parent company Total Transit were both founded in the Phoenix area in 1984. Since its humble beginning, Discount Cab has grown into one of the leading private transportation companies in the Southwest and is proud to now operate the largest fleet of hybrid taxi vehicles in North America. Discount Cab's promise is to be safe, clean and green in all that we do. Our vehicle and driver standards are among the strictest in the nation. All Discount Cab drivers must pass state and federal background checks to ensure passenger safety. In addition, they must pass a five-panel drug screening test, a sex offender registry check, have no DUIs, and complete a three-day training course that includes classroom, on-the-road and sensitivity training. Discount Cab also certifies its drivers to provide mobility/wheelchair-accommodating transportation for those with disabilities.
