Home of the 1st International Airport, officially designated by the "First Lady", Eleanor Roosevelt in 1933. Amelia Earhart and many famous pilots had flown into Douglas Municipal Airport as part of "The Powder Puff Derby" air race from Santa Monica, CA to Cleveland, OH in 1929.
