Great place to spend the day and pack a lunch, work on crossword puzzles, and take a nap . Be sure to buy your parking pass when you arrive. The ranger stops by often. Restrooms. Picnic tables....

We had easy parking, great experience. Bring water and food obviously. Kinda busy in some spots but we walked for 5-10 mins a found a nice spot. Great views.

The Bootlegger Picnic Area is a comfortable spot off of Arizona State Route 89A, 18 miles south of Flagstaff or 9 miles north of Sedona. There are basic facilities and about 6 or 7 parking spots....

Found this after slide rock area closed up for the day. Water was a bit cold but was empty and very relaxing. $5 to park all day not bad. Hike was minimal. Bring your pool toys for the water pool.
