History

Axel Mortgage was formed in 2001 to provide a new level of transparency and integrity to the lending process. Jim Merrill, the Broker for Axel Mortgage began his lending career in 1994. Jim started as an award winning, high volume loan originator with a large Midwest Banker and rapidly advanced into many management positions within the firm. Jim helped this Banker establish a footprint in the Arizona market in 1995. In 2001 Jim decided to branch off on his own and started Axel Mortgage Inc. 99% of the business received by Axel Mortgage is from repeat and referral business. This repeat and referral stream of business coupled with an A+ Better Business Bureau rating are true testaments of how well Axel Mortgage and Jim Merrill operate.

Hello and welcome to Axel Mortgage. We are an A+ Better Business Bureau company that has been serving Arizona exclusively since 2001. If you chose us as your mortgage provider you will work one on one with me, Jim Merrill, the Broker/Owner of Axel Mortgage. Unlike the unlicensed Loan Originators you find at big banks and big bankers, I have had to pass rigorous testing and bonding procedures to be licensed in Arizona as a mortgage broker. I am an expert in this dynamic market and have been originating in Arizona since 1995. One thing that makes Axel Mortgage different from many of our competitors is we have a published rate sheet on our site that you can reference daily for current loan pricing on all of our products. If you are looking at doing business with another originator or company that does not have the transparency to publish a daily rate sheet you will be at the mercy of a commissioned sales person that will tell you anything to up-sell rates and fees.
