American Heritage Academy

American Heritage Academy is a nonprofit public charter school that was founded in 1995. Based in Cottonwood, Ariz., it received its charter from the state of Arizona to educate students in traditional liberal arts education. American Heritage Academy's classes are held four days a week, and it offers a variety of subjects and activities to students in grades kindergarten through 12. The subjects include English, history, mythology, Native American studies, science, earth science, biology, mathematics and art. American Heritage Academy also offers subjects, such as anatomy, physiology, algebra, geometry, computers, personal finance, world history, Japanese culture, Latin, government and home economics. Additionally, the company is accredited by the Association for Performance Based Accreditation, a multistate accrediting association that focuses on performance and not programs.
