Glen Pardy, a Butera School of Art graduate, used experience he had gained while working at sign shops in Alaska, New Orleans, Minnesota, and Maine to set up Vital Signs in Fairbanks in 1982. The company's success led to Glen's brother John joining the company in 1990. John had experience in construction, where he had worked for 15 years as a painter and drywall taper. The knowledge gleaned from his years in the trade helped John bring another dimension of service to Vital Signs.Glen and John were partners for 12 years. When Glen decided to move to Nome, John took over the business. He continues to run Vital Signs as a company that takes great pride in its work.
