I was in Valdez for the weekend of the Women's Silver Salmon Derby and couldn't wait to check out The Prospector because they were giving out all sorts of cool door prizes at the opening...

Loved their apparel options. Purchased several souvenirs here as well as some fishing supplies. The staff was helpful and friendly. Returned the next day to make another purchase. Very pleased...

Just a high end gear shop named Prospector but like REI. Bought cute Ak made leggings for a friend. Nice that it promotes small businesses.

I'm told the Fairbanks location has a bigger selection, I still haven't gone but imagine I will in the near future. The Prospector has quite a selection of outdoor clothing, gear and footwear...
