Founded in 1981, Ketchikan Pioneer Home (KPH), governed by the state of Alaska, is a three-storey building for family and friends to congregate and visit. The facility can accommodate more than 45 individuals. It has over 80 employees. Ketchikan Pioneer Home is registered as an Eden home. The facility s respite care program provides 24-hour care services for up to two weeks for individuals who need short-term assistance for a scheduled period of time. It receives donations from Pioneer Auxiliary, American Legion, First Bank and Ketchikan Indian Corporation. Ketchikan Pioneer Home offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, school groups, civic organizations, churches and local businesses.
