Student Support Service

The office of Student Support Services Special Education Department serves children between the ages of 3 and 21. It offers special education programs for students with learning disabilities. The department maintains a staff of more than 300 teachers. The office of Student Support Services Special Education Department provides vocational, recreational and family support, and medical and health care services. It is a part of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District, which governs several elementary, high and middle schools. The district operates purchasing, risk management, nutrition services, transportation, information technology, human resources, and operations and maintenance departments. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District also maintains a career and technical education department that offers programs in business management, architecture, construction and engineering.
