The Chugach Regional Resources Commission (CRRC) is a community-based organization founded in 1984, dedicated to promoting Tribal sovereignty and protecting the subsistence lifestyle of the Alutiiq Sugpiaq and Eyak people in the Chugach region of Alaska. With a mission to conserve and steward the natural resources in their traditional use areas, CRRC works closely with seven Tribal villages to develop and implement natural resource management programs, ensuring the conservation and sound economic development of the region. As the leading inter-Tribal fish and wildlife commission, CRRC engages in marine research, mariculture economic development, fish and wildlife conservation, climate change research, marine mammal conservation, and habitat protection. They also bring Tribal voices to the natural resource management process, provide educational opportunities, and play a leading role in the management of the subsistence harvest of migratory birds.
