The Department of Health & Social Services of the state of Alaska offers behavioral health, juvenile justice, child support, health care, and public assistance and health services, as well as health care services for senior citizens and the disabled. It operates the Alaska Pioneer Homes, which is a licensed assisted living facility with more than 500 beds and provides daily assistance and physical and emotional support to residents.
