Back Porch Gallery is open June through August, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Noon - 5pm. The Back Porch Gallery is part of Cynthia and Taro's home and studio on the hill above Homer, Alaska. Cynthia works primarily in clay and uses a wood fired kiln to fire her functional ware and sculpture. Taro works mostly in wood and built their home and studio incorporating details such as the arched entryway to the gallery. He also makes fine tables with live edges, showing the beauty of the material. The Back Porch Gallery has Cynthia's wood fired functional pottery and sculptures available for purchase, along with her drawings on paper. Taro's work is by custom order.
