Nome City Personnel Department
The Nome Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) is a dedicated team responsible for fire protection, search and rescue, hazmat response, and other emergencies in the City of Nome and the Nome Airport. With a split ISO rating of 5 and 9, the department ensures the safety of dwellings and buildings within 1000 feet of a hydrant and within 5 road miles of a fire station, while also providing fire investigation, prevention, safety, and education services.
