History

Clay Owen Studios was started in 2011 by a young aspiring artist in a small downtown space. Autumn Tetlow was nineteen years old when she first started her business and for the past five years it has been open it has grown to be a creative hub for the community of Anchorage Alaska. Here we teach pottery, stained glass, mosaics, and watercolor classes. The studio also hosts art shows that are free to local artists and hosts a gift shop displaying pottery, handmade clothes, and a variety of items that are strictly made by hand in Alaska.

Specialties

Clay Owen Studios is a creative work space for adults and children. Our studio host mosaic classes, pottery classes, and stained glass classes. Regat Jacques & Mary

Jacques and Mary Regat are Alaskan sculptors, painters and muralists, who have worked as professional artists and have lived in Alaska for over 50 years. They work in many medias such as bronze, wood, lithography, painting, jewelry and the like. Their interest in the Alaska native people have led them to create works of art that represent the stories and legends of these people thereby bridging the gap between cultures. They also have done a collection of religious art telling the stories of the Saints for the Catholic Church. To their credit their work has been commissioned by many art in public places. Nature with its wonderful array of wild animals has inspired them to create beautiful impressionistic images that fit in all types of home decors. They are known for their wide variety of subject matter with the Alaskan black bears, grizzly bears and the pristine white polar bears of the far north being among some of their favorites. The otters be it the river or sea otter make exciting compositional possibilities with their wonderful fluid bodies and lively activities. The sculpture of our sea otters titled "Playmates" shown here can be seen at Murphy's Family Dental on 330 Tudor Road, Anchorage, AK along with our 92 foot mural representing the native American story of the wolf people. We invite you to explore our web site and see our collection of work for sale and sold out editions. We are continually adding new pieces.
