My wife Karen and I managed Alaska Hooksetters for 12 years until this year. We left Russell Fishing which had been leasing Alaska Hooksetters and took a one season sabbatical. Now, our company, Kenai Alaska Adventures, has come to a binding agreement to purchase Alaska Hooksetters LLC. We will begin operating the lodge in the 2024 season and will begin managing the 2024 bookings exclusively and effective immediately. Alaska Hooksetters is an Uncommon Alaska Vacation Lodge with a Unique Philosophy Alaska Hooksetters is “not your typical Alaska fishing lodge offering your typical Alaska fishing packages at” It is a Kenai Alaska venue and environment that welcomes their friends and family to a “home away from home” Alaska Vacation on the Kenai Peninsula; fishermen of all ages and skills, and non-fishermen alike….even if they are traveling together; couples looking to truly experience an Alaska Vacation on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula; families on an Alaska Vacation who may not want a full week of non-stop Alaska fishing charters; companies looking for a great Alaska retreat, event or incentive. Our philosophy and perspective is different. Alaska Hooksetters Lodge wants to build memories. Surely a 70lb king salmon, a 300lb halibut or a 10lb rainbow will do that. But so will sharing stories around a covered fire pit or walking the gray soft sand beach near the mouth of the mighty Kenai River. What could be more memorable than a hike along a river or through a lush landscape taking photos of the wildlife; a grizzly bear and her cubs, a moose and her newborn calves, or an eagle soaring above the trees. As the years pass us by, the fondest recollections of your Alaska vacation may be the solitude of your surroundings, the call of the loon, the magnificent and breathtaking mountains where they rise from Cook Inlet, or the fabulous Midnight Sun.
