West Alabama Food Bank
The West Alabama Food Bank (WAFB), established in 1987, is a non-profit organization based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, dedicated to alleviating hunger across nine counties in the region. With a mission to help neighbors acquire essential nourishment, WAFB partners with local pantries, churches, and community centers to distribute over 4 million pounds of food and supplies annually to those in need.
Operating from a state-of-the-art 52,000 square foot facility, the food bank effectively manages food distribution through its network of more than 93 partner agencies, reaching over 200,000 residents each year. As a proud affiliate of Feeding America, WAFB is committed to addressing food insecurity rates that range from 15% to 31% in its service area, significantly higher than the national average.
