Sumter Health and Rehab Center

The Tom C. Maynor Rehabilitation Center, an acute rehabilitation facility, was established in 1999 to create a facility that allowed patients to receive intensive rehabilitation and 24-hour care. In 2002, the Center was dedicated in honor of retired local businessman Tom C. Maynor in recognition of his strong advocacy on behalf of stroke survivors and their families. Today, the center excels in helping patients achieve maximum function, exceeding national benchmarks on multiple measures.

Colonial Haven is a medical center that provides a variety of health care solutions for individuals of all ages. It specializes in dietary, peritoneal dialysis support, and respite, hospice and tracheostomy care services. The center offers post-stroke, amputee, massage, relaxation, and skin and wound care programs. It provides laryngectomy rehabilitation, pain management, cognitive retraining and joint replacement services. The center additionally offers home evaluation, Medicare certification, and hearing assessment and treatment solutions. It provides physical, speech, occupational and respiratory therapy services. The center organizes several social events and recreational activities for patients. It also offers 24-hour on-call services. Colonial Haven is a part of American Health Corporation, which was founded in 1985 and operates assisted living facilities throughout the United States, including New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi and Oregon.

Hale County Hospital has been catering to the medical needs of its residents ever since 1963. Located in Greensboro, Ala., it operates as a 39-bed facility with a physician's clinic and home health agency.
