The Shorter Mansion, an exquisite example of Eufaula's architectural heritage, was built between 1902 and 1903 by Eli Sims Shorter II and his wife Wileyna Lamar Shorter. We stopped because of the movie Sweet Home Alabama and so glad we did. What history! The home is well preserved and the street the home is on is so pretty with lots of beautiful homes to view from...
