Lake Guntersville Yacht Club ( LGYC ) is a social organization dedicated to the promotion and education of safe and enjoyable boating in a family atmosphere. The club is registered with and a member of Yachting Clubs of America and provides Yacht Club reciprocity across the country. LGYC planned social events each year include harbor based activities, boating safety awareness, and classes, vessel inspections, MSD inspections and other on-water social gatherings and cruises. LGYC usually sponsors select Holiday weekend social events including Friday night socials and "doctails" , Saturday morning coffee and breakfast in gossip hall, Saturday Tennis, Golf, Horse Shore and other sporting events, Evening doctails and dinner, live music and dancing into the night.
