Rotary Trail
The Rotary Trail is a linear park in Birmingham, Alabama, extending the city’s green space as part of the Railroad Reservation project. Spanning four blocks along an old depressed railbed, it features a 26-foot width and is designed to enhance connectivity within the City Center, linking important urban areas and encouraging outdoor engagement.
Completed in Spring 2016, the Rotary Trail has received several accolades, including the 2016 Outstanding Urban Design Project from the American Planning Association. The project was developed by landscape architect Jane Reed Ross and includes contributions from Goodwyn Mills Cawood and Clemens Dean Building Co., aiming to provide residents and visitors with appealing gathering spaces and accessible pathways.
