Saint George the Great Martyr Church is a vibrant and diverse community located in Birmingham, AL, and is the only Melkite Church of Antioch in the state. With a rich history dating back nearly 100 years, the church has been an integral part of the city, serving as merchants and store owners who supplied the needs of the iron industry workers. Today, Saint George continues to embrace its Middle Eastern roots and Southern heritage, welcoming everyone to experience their beautiful worship and warm community life.

As a parish of the Melkite Diocese of Newton, MA, Saint George Church carries on the spirit of Antioch, the first center of Christianity outside Jerusalem. With regular services such as Vespers and Divine Liturgy, as well as pastoral ministry available for Holy Confession and Anointing, the church provides a spiritual haven for its members and visitors alike. From its participation in the civil rights movement to its diverse membership, Saint George Melkite Greek Catholic Church is a place where faith, culture, and community converge.
