Originally named Pierce Chapel, and later First Wesleyan, the church eventually began meeting on the corner of Greensboro Avenue and 20th Street. The first building was completed on April 2, 1916. Improvements and expansion continued on that property and a new sanctuary was completed on May 10, 1953. The church met in that facility until October 1982, when the relocation to a multipurpose building at 1501 McFarland Blvd N took place. Then a new sanctuary (currently serving as the Student Center) was completed on October 30, 1983. Expansion on this property continued, especially when the new, state of the art sanctuary was completed in January of 1999 to accommodate a growing church! But ours isn't a history of facilities and property. It is a story (actually many stories) of God transforming the lives of people through the power of Jesus Christ today. That's why our greatest days are still ahead!
