Fellowship House Inc

Established in 1965, Fellowship House Inc. is an agency funded by the United Way. Located in Birmingham, Ala., it provides a substance abuse recovery program designed to serve the special needs of an individual who suffers from alcoholism or drug addiction. The program includes personal, social and vocational adjustment necessary for the maintenance of a sober and productive life. The agency s clients include referrals from state mental health providers, public/private treatment programs, the VAMC and clients referred by the criminal justice system. An aftercare service includes group and individual counseling and self-help community participation, which allows for an effective transition to a non-institutional lifestyle.
