The US Army Corps of Engineers plans, designs, builds and operates water resources and related civil works projects. In addition, the US Army Corps of Engineers provides design and construction management support services to several defense and federal agencies. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and operates the Engineer Research and Development Center, which consists of more than five laboratories. The organization is located in Mobile, Ala. The US Army Corps of Engineers additionally specializes in civil works and offers ecosystem restoration, environmental stewardship, radioactive site cleanup and dam safety services for the public.
