The Elberta Volunteer Fire Department is a dedicated group of 23 volunteer members, protecting over 6,700 citizens in Elberta, Alabama. With three stations and nine apparatus, they hold training meetings every Monday night and are always looking for new recruits to join their team.
The department organizes the bi-annual Elberta German Sausage Festival, a popular event attracting approximately 30,000 people per festival. With over 200 arts and crafts booths and cooking around 7,000 lbs of Elberta German Sausage, the festival serves as a fundraiser for the fire department, benefiting the local community.
