Church Street Graveyard is a historic city cemetery located in Mobile, Alabama. Established in 1819, the cemetery is situated on 4 acres 1.6 ha and is surrounded by a brick wall that dates to 1830. It was originally divided into three sections the northeastern third for Catholics, the southeastern third for Protestants, and the western portion for strangers . Like others, we went in search of the Joe Cain gravesite and its to the left of the entrance. A very atmospheric cemetery with lots to photograph, we went at sunset on a misty day...glorious.

It's a nice walk through local history when you visit an old graveyard. The tombs are in disrepair but that makes for a more spooky experience.
