Located in Centre, Ala., CED Mental Health Center provides wellness services. Established in 1924, Murphy-Harpst is a child care agency that offers services for children and youth with emotional and behavioral problems. It provides residential treatment services for children and youth between the ages of 6 and 17. The organization offers therapeutic foster care and community-focused programs. It also operates a 55-plus-bed campus that organizes a variety of programs, such as family therapy, anger management, and individual and group psychotherapies. The agency maintains a community service clinic that provides in-clinic nursing assessment, home-based, parent training, substance abuse intervention, and psychiatric and medication evaluation services. In addition, its programs are accredited by the National Foster Family Treatment Association and the Foster Family-based Treatment Association. Murphy-Harpst maintains a location in Cedartown, Ga.
