Established in 1948, Camp McDowell is a camping and conference center for the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Alabama. Based in Nauvoo, Ala., the camping center offers facilities to people of all faiths and backgrounds. It offers a variety of camping options, such as residential summer camp program and adventure camping program. Camp McDowell Environmental Center collaborates with Feathers in Focus (Raptor Program) to provide environmental education for thousands of students. The center s lodges and rustic cabins are available for educational and religious camping groups.

The People Development Center, Inc

Since 1928, Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church is a Christian congregation serving the residents of Fairfield, Ala. The church's central act of worship is spreading the beliefs of Jesus Christ. It operates a nursery for infants and toddlers while also governing the Mount Pilgrim Christian Academy and Mount Pilgrim Christian Academy Daycare & Preschool, that offer a range of educational and enrichment programs. It also operates a nonprofit organization, namely People Development Center. In addition, the Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church administers youth and seniors' ministries.
