The Bon Secour NWR contains 7,000 acres of wildlife habitat for migratory birds, nesting sea turtles and the endangered Alabama beach mouse. The refuge exists to protect the coastal dune ecosystem, endangered species and for recreational activities.

We hiked this from the main parking lot at the preserve to pine beach and it was just a little over 4 miles total. The beach was pretty and we found some large shells. We also ran up on a baby...

Great little beach section we found, had a nice time and time beach weather. I do always think about alligator, however this spot was clean and safe.

Paula was amazing! She is a volunteer and helped us out so much and was very informative. She knows her stuff and you can tell she loves it there.

Keep an eye out for the turn into the parking area. There is a small sign but it's easy to miss. There is a fair amount of parking available, and it's mostly shady. We took the Pine Beach Trail....
