Black Warrior Methane Corp

Established in 1983, Black Warrior Methane captures and sells methane gas generated by underground coal mining. It operates more than 400 wells and delivers over 30 million-cubic-foot gas per day for Southern Natural Gas. The company utilizes surface and underground horizontal drilling methods to extract methane gas. Black Warrior Methane also owns Black Warrior Transmission, which operates a more than 30-mile gas pipeline to deliver methane gas. The company is jointly owned by Jim Walter Resources and El Paso Energy.
