Birmingham Equipment Management

The Equipment Management department is responsible for the maintenance of an equipment fleet and automated fuel system. It maintains a fleet of more than 2,000 pieces, such as police cars, refuse trucks, ambulances and fire trucks. The department offers service programs for over 100 vehicles daily. The Equipment Management department employs a staff of nearly 50 people. The department is governed by the City of Birmingham in Alabama. The City of Birmingham manages universities, colleges, and technical and religious training schools. The city operates a police department that offers investigation services for felony assaults and attempted murders. In addition, it manages fire and public transportation departments.
