1977 Books, a not-for-profit bookstore located in Montgomery, AL, has made the difficult decision to close for the foreseeable future due to financial and logistical challenges. Born from a living room book club, this scrappy community space has spent the last four years fostering local organizations, hosting author readings, and sharing a passion for books.
