The Idrija Townspeople Apiary is an exceptional example of a highly crafted, skilfully executed and painted townspeople apiary and is one of the highlights of the 20th century Slovene apiculture. The apiary is located by the Church of the Holy Trinity where, according to the legend, a bucket maker discovered native mercury in 1490.

An amazing experience in Idrija is a visit to the second largest mercury mine in the world! Discover the mysterious underground world of Anthony's Main Road – you just might catch a glimpse of the pit elf – Perkmandlc. Good to know: Visitors receive protective overcoats and helmets.
