Uppsala Castle (Uppsala Slott)

The museum tells the story of health and sickness in body and mind through history. Find out more about medical practices, surgical instruments, folk remedies and how pharmacies prepared and dispensed their medicines. The psychiatric history exhibit is dedicated to the life, work and care at the Ulleråker psychiatric hospital. The psychiatric history exhibition is closed due to refurbishment and opens again during autumn 2024. Meanwhile, a smaller, temporary exhibition on the subject is available.
