Charlotte Berlin was born in Ystad in 1841. She was a business woman that made alot of money investing funds left by her parents in equity investments. Charlotte Berlin took great pleasure in collecting things, especially watches and silverware, and wanted to create a museum for her collections. After her death in 1916, her wish came true and Charlotte Berlins home on Dammgatan 23 became a museum. Today the museum is open during the summer and is run by Ystad Municipality. Visitors are welcome to step into the world of Miss Berlin through guided tours offered all summer.
