The Clandestino by Salpoente Project was born out of a need created during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on a concept of haute cuisine and fusion with the flavors of traditional cuisine, Salpoente de-formatted its mindset and found itself in the throes of defining and implementing a new strategy and way of being, in order to reach its customers during times of crisis. Thus was born a new delivery and take-away service, to bring the most trendy food to its customers and adapted to the new distance service. The public's success and receptiveness to this new concept were so positive that they ended up bringing an opportunity for a new business, with the creation of the Clandestino by Salpoente Restaurant, in the heart of the city of Aveiro. The name reflects the humor, in what is considered to have been “clandestine” food, outside the original concept of Salpoente, developed during the pandemic.
