104 Rua Garrett
Lisbon 1200-205
Founded in 1868, Pastelaria Bénard began as an aristocratic and famous restaurant and teahouse during the nineteenth century and continues today as one of the most iconic cafés and restaurants of Lisbon. Its central location at the heart of Chiado provides a good vantage point of the lively rua Garrett. The outdoor tables are a good option for those who want to drink good wine, a hot chocolate, coffee or tea while enjoying the fresh air. Inside, you will find two rooms that retain the atmosphere of the original space. In addition to the pastries service, Bénard also works as a restaurant. The lunches and dinners menus includes meals of typical Portuguese cuisine and some lighter salads and quiches. But is it in the pastries that Bénard really stands out. Their croissant has long been a favorite of its customers, made from a secret recipe and usually served hot.
