Arecibo, PR 00612
Arecibo's town hall is rich in historic value. It was constructed on 1866 and resembles a colonial style painted light blue house. The facade of the building was modified on 1919 but reinstated in 1978 back to its historic appearance. It is located in the North of the island, east of Barceloneta and west of Hatillo and stands in the middle of la plaza del pueblo of Arecibo. In this historical place, the Spaniards gave the town to the Americans on October 11 of 1898. The town hall is also an important location because of the judicial matters that were processed on the site concerning the Ponce Massacre.
